Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage the full lifecycle of advanced medical technologies in the military health system, from planning and integration to overseeing contractors and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

It's a supervisory role where you'll act as the go-to expert and main contact for medical logistics in defense health.

A good fit would be an experienced biomedical engineer with strong leadership skills, a background in managing complex equipment programs, and familiarity with government contracting.

About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Assistant Director Support, Medical Logistics Directorate (MEDLOG), Health Care Technology Management Division and it is located at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Advanced In Hire may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Developing comprehensive programs to manage complex medical equipment systems, (2) Managing enterprise contract portfolios, (3) Coordinating with partnering organizations on medical technology integration requirements, AND (4) evaluating contractor performance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities related to the lifecycle of advanced medical technologies within the Military Health System (MHS).
  • Act as the expert engineering consultant for the Agency.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison and representative for the DHA Medical Logistics division.
  • Evaluate contractor performance to ensure it meets contract standards and authorizing payment.
  • Supervise, direct, coordinate, and oversee the work of subordinates.
