This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Research Services.
The incumbent directs a specialized program of marked difficulty, responsibility, and national significance, and is responsible for the overall planning, development, direction, coordination, and control of the functions within the Center for Legislative Archives.
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience for the GS-15 grade level is defined as one year of experience at the GS-14 grade level, or equivalent, that is typically in or related to the position and which equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience: Supervising or leading an archival records program; AND Proposing and implementing solutions and/or strategies for program improvement to assure the continuing effectiveness of activities in support of an Agency's mission; AND Collaborating and executing communication strategies, plans or policies to individuals.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following requirements, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F): Time-in-Grade: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
Major Duties:
As a Supervisory Archivist, you will: Execute the work of the unit through supervision of its staff.
Provide essential access to NARA's and legislative holdings for congressional offices, members of the media, other Federal Government agencies, and the public.
Oversee the archival responsibilities of the custodial unit, including accessioning, processing, arrangement, description, reference and preservation.
Coordinate activities with Research Services leadership, with the Office of the Archivist, and with offices around the Agency.
