About the Position: You will serve as the Chief of South Pacific Division's Regional Appraisal Center at Sacramento District to plan and manage the appraisal production program for South Pacific Division and its subordinate Districts.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing appraisal staff AND identifying and evaluating appraisal needs for a variety of property types, different interests, and appraisal product.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Selective Placement Factor: This position has a selective placement factor which must be met at the time of application.

Major Duties:

  • Manage, administer and provide technical supervision, and direction of the appraisal production program and activities required to perform the real estate appraisal mission of the USACE within SPD.
  • Mission includes civil works and military programs including, not limited to: flood control, water supply, hydro power, hazardous/toxic waste, emergency management, full support to Army Commands, other federal agencies, state and local entities.
  • Supervisory controls consist of broad functional objectives, supplemented by discussions and consultations with the Chief, Real Estate Division on matters of a precedent setting or major policy nature.
  • You will have exceptionally wide latitude for independent action and decision in planning and controlling assigned functions within the framework of existing policies.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate and schedule appraisal workloads throughout the SPD AOR, including TDY travel assignments to ensure effective use of travel time and funds for appraisal projects (in consultation with district lead and senior appraisers).
