Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team in a naval warfare center to manage and advance projects on unmanned systems and defenses against them, ensuring everything runs smoothly and meets military goals.

It requires supervising staff, planning resources, and innovating to support defense experiments and development.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Administrative/Technical Specialist in the Weapons Engineering Branch (JXPN) or Asymmetric Effects Systems Branch (JXPY), Weapons System Development Division (JXP), Expeditionary Warfare Weapons & Energy Systems Department (JX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13/14.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading the planning and execution of projects, programs, or initiatives by managing project resources and quality deliverables to ensure mission objectives are met.

  • You will be responsible as the manager for the Divisions unmanned (UxS) and counter-unmanned (C-UxS) experimentation and advanced development efforts.
  • You will provide supervisory oversight to employees that provide UxS/C-UxS Test and Evaluation technical services across NSWC Crane and the Department of Defense.
  • You will be responsible for the branch's overall effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity and for the development/implementation of the branch's policies/procedures.
  • You will develop schedules/milestones that support current and future infrastructure and plans for growth.
  • You will design and implement programs that support the branch's mission requirements and formulates goals, plans and methods of evaluation.
  • You will analyze and implement procedures and processes for the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the programs/projects.
  • You will monitor and coordinate tasking and continuous work for the Division's internal and external customers.
  • You will develop and maintain the branch's long/short term planning for funding, human resources, facilities and equipment.
  • You will develop funding schedules that support current and future infrastructure and plans for growth.
  • You will anticipate and analyze risks to resources, products, programs and processes and implements effective control measures.
  • You will demonstrate strong leadership skills, innovative thinking ability and Management skills to provide branch employees continuous creative ideas to meet and exceed customer needs.
  • You will develop procedures to improve the quality of services, products and processes for customers.
  • You will implement programs that support Branch mission requirements and formulate goals, plans and methods of evaluations.
  • You will develop and orchestrate the continuous growth of the Division, the Branch, and their customers.
