Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of experts in developing advanced underwater surveillance technologies for the Navy, including planning projects, supervising staff, and ensuring innovative systems are delivered on time.

It requires overseeing research, engineering, and testing to support defense and intelligence needs.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-13 or equivalent level in research, analysis, systems engineering, design, development, or test and evaluation of surveillance systems
  • Supervisory experience in planning, coordinating personnel, and facilities for a technical branch
  • Knowledge in professional engineering fields (e.g., general, mechanical, electrical) or related sciences (e.g., physical, mathematics, computer science)
  • Ability to develop performance plans, conduct reviews, and recommend compensation in a federal or equivalent environment
  • Experience advising on or performing work in electronics, acoustics, optics, or statistical analysis for device and system development
  • Familiarity with Department of Navy programs and delivering state-of-the-art technologies to defense and intelligence communities

You will serve as a SUPERVISOR in the AUTONOMOUS TECHNOLOGIES of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band NM-04 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leads in providing research, analysis, systems engineering, design, development, and/or test and evaluation using innovative methods to ensure state of-the-art surveillance systems are delivered to Department of Navy (DoN) and Intelligence Communities (IC) programs.

  • You will be responsible for supervision, planning, and coordination of all ATD senior level personnel and facilities assigned to the Branch.
  • You will work with each member of the branch to develop their respective annual STRL Contribution Plans, conducts and documents their performance reviews, and makes compensation recommendations to the sub pay pool and pay pool manager.
  • You will provide research, analysis, systems engineering, design, development, and/or test and evaluation using innovative methods to ensure state of- the-art underwater surveillance systems are delivered to Department of Navy (DoN).
  • You will advise, administer, supervise, or perform professional, scientific or technical work such as engineering projects, systems, processes, equipment, devices and material or methods.
  • You will advise, administer, supervise, or perform professional and scientific work focused on the design, development, commission, manufacture, operation, maintenance, and disposal of mechanical devices and systems.
  • You will advise, administer, supervise, or perform professional and scientific work focused on the generation and application of theories, principles, practical concepts, processes, and systems related to the science of electronics engineering.
  • You will advise, administer, supervise, or perform professional and scientific work that is focused on space, time, matter, and energy in the areas of sound, optics, heat, and radiation.
  • You will advise, administer, supervise, or perform professional and scientific work focused on the design, development and adaptation of mathematical, statistical, and other scientific methods and techniques to analyze problems.
  • You will advise, administer, supervise, or perform professional and scientific work such as application of, or research into computer science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, transform or present information by means of computer systems
