Job Description

Summary

This job is for a supervisor role in a naval command center in San Diego, where you'll lead teams working on command and control systems, manage technical projects, and handle business strategies for defense technology.

It involves overseeing engineering, research, and personnel to ensure projects align with military priorities.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-13 or equivalent level in technical and project management of command and control information systems
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a qualifying field such as engineering (0801), physical sciences (1301), mathematics/statistics (1501), operations research (1515), or computer science (1550)
  • Knowledge of personnel management processes including hiring, promotions, awards, and performance assessments
  • Experience leading development of business proposals, strategies, and policies
  • Ability to provide technical leadership in design, development, and analysis of computer hardware, software, and systems
  • Proficiency in conducting research on mathematical principles and methods to solve engineering, economic, or military problems
  • Experience advising, planning, and overseeing scientific inquiries and analysis across the acquisition life cycle

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISOR in the COMMAND AND CONTROL (C2) of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band NM-04 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical and project management oversight over Command and Control information system(s); leading the development of business proposals, strategies, and/or policies; knowledge of personnel management processes (i.e.

hiring, promotions, awards, etc.) and assessing employees' performance.

  • You will provide technical leadership, planning, business development, coordination and management of all aspects of the division’s Technical Capabilities and projects in accordance with the Division Head’s priorities.
  • You will perform professional engineering work to include but not limited to design, development, analysis of computer hardware, systems, software and computer architecture systems.
  • You will perform consulting, supervise, or perform research or other professional and scientific work in the investigation and application of the relations between a wide variety of hardware, software, business, personnel, and shipboard systems.
  • You will conduct research on basic mathematical principles, methods, procedures, techniques, or relationships; or developing mathematical methods to solve a variety of scientific, engineering, economic, and/or military problems.
  • You will advise, administer, plan, monitor/oversee, perform rigorous scientific inquires and analysis, and research of systems or system components across the entire acquisition life cycle.
  • You will perform professional and scientific work such as the application of, or research into computer science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, transform or present information by means of computer systems.
