Summary

Are you a teacher looking for a meaningful and fun summer opportunity?

Como Park Zoo & Conservatory is hiring Summer Camp Care Specialists.

Camp Care Specialists partner with families, instructors, and camp leadership to ensure every camper feels safe, included, and supported.

This role provides additional assistance for campers who may benefit from accommodations such as environmental modifications, medication administration, behavioral support, or participation assistance.

Information specific to this position:

  • Dates: June 8 – August 21, 2026 (minimum three-week commitment required)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 32 hours per week
  • Compensation: $750 per week

Required training dates: May 16–17, 2026 or May 30–31, 2026 (Some scheduling flexibility available)

  • Training Stipend: $300

Here’s what you can expect to do:

  • Review camper registration materials and identify potential support needs
  • Communicate with families prior to and during the camp week
  • Coordinate accommodation plans with camp staff
  • Provide direct support to campers and instructors as needed
  • Manage and administer medications according to established procedures
  • Assist with drop-off, pick-up, and recess supervision
