Where: Parks Admin Building – 2015 Van Dyke Street in Maplewood
Estimated hours: April to Sept. Approximately 20-30 hours -- weekdays only -- 8a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
This position courteously and promptly greets Parks residents and guests both in person and over the phone. Main duties are making shelter reservations, handling incoming calls and other office support duties. Candidates must be punctual.
Skill Requirements: Ability to type 40 words per minute, effective communication by phone, in person and through email, moderate skills in navigating the internet and using Microsoft Office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
Experience: Three years of related clerical or customer service experience.
Substitution: Equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
This is an unclassified, at-will temporary position. This position requires an open screening and selection process. There is no exam for this unclassified, at-will, temporary position.

Definition of Unclassified from the Ramsey County Personnel Act:
Subdivision 1. General. "The appointing authority may discharge employees in the unclassified service with or without cause.
Employees in the unclassified service have no right to a grievance appeal from discharge or other disciplinary action under sections 383A.281 to 383A.301.
An employee in an unclassified position shall not have tenure but shall be entitled to all benefits associated with tenure such as vacation leave, sick leave, health insurance, and other benefits as determined by the county board."
