Full Job Description

Under direct supervision of the Research and Planning Administrator and in support of the college’s data management mission, the Statistical and Research Analyst assists as needed with the implementation and maintenance of the analytics program by supporting decision-making strategies, performance improvement, and other key operational goals through database clean-up management and report creation and maintenance. Provides proactive and reactive support while exhibiting the highest levels of ethical and professional standards in both attitude and behavior as well as excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Job Duties of the Statistical and Research Analyst III include:
  • Performs and/or participates in internal and external data reporting tasks and projects as assigned. Utilizes MS Office and other approved/provided software applications as needed to extract, organize, format, and communicate data and data results to end users.
  • Utilizing the institution's reporting software, assists in managing the updating, scheduling, and user-accessibility of reports. Maintains the Institutional Research department's reports catalog.

    Provides report recipients with useful report-related tools and resources, i.e. Institutional Research reference documents, templates, etc.

  • Generates and distributes scheduled manual daily, weekly, etc. reports. Serves as the primary reporting back up for the institution's Research and Planning Administrator.

    Presents an Institutional Research department overview to new employees that includes, but is not limited to data request tickets, the department's report catalogue, college-wide and applicable department-specific data and QC reports, etc.

    Provides ongoing guidance and assistance to front-end users to ensure each has the foundational knowledge to accurately input data.

    Assists in communicating and coordinating the institution's data cleanup needs through effective written communication to those individuals, departments, and/or divisions whose data is missing, incorrect, out-of-date, etc.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and professional experience involving the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of quantified data. A master's degree in statistics may be substituted for the required work experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Must have a valid driver's license. NETC Preferred Requirements: A bachelor's degree, proficient in writing SQL syntax and two (2) years of professional experience involving the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of quantified data. Experience with Informer and/or other data reporting software systems.

Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and in writing SQL syntax and familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite. Extensive knowledge in pivot table and pivot chart creation. Knowledge of methods of research design, data collection, data manipulation, data analysis and presentation of information. Knowledge of applicable computer software products. Ability to analyze and interpret data using various statistical and mathematical techniques. Ability to predict trends and future action based on the analysis of collected information. Ability to prepare and present reports communicating the results of data analysis. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to demonstrate skills in understanding analytic problems, identifying key stakeholders, acquiring, and preparing data, selecting and applying analytic tools, and producing actionable results.

Additional Information

Employee will be housed in the Institutional Advancement Division and supervised by the College's Research and Planning Administrator. Adherence to the highest level of integrity, compliance, and discretion is required. Some overnight travel may be required to attend professional conferences and peer group meetings.
