Job Description
Summary
This job involves running the gift shop at the South Carolina State House, handling everything from daily sales and inventory to marketing products and supervising staff to attract more visitors.
It also includes occasional help with tours and keeping the space tidy while promoting teamwork across the department.
A good fit would be someone with retail experience who enjoys customer service, managing small teams, and boosting sales in a public-facing historic site.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years related administrative experience in retail sales, marketing, and customer service
- Ability to lift, walk, and stand for extended periods
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Professional and courteous interaction with the general public
- Experience in staff supervision, budgeting, inventory control, and purchasing
- Ability to manage marketing, sales projections, and special events
