Summary

This job is for a custodian who keeps state office buildings clean and tidy by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and maintaining bathrooms and dorm rooms.

You'll also report any repair needs and handle basic equipment fixes.

It's a good fit for someone reliable, physically fit, and comfortable with routine cleaning tasks in a supportive government environment.

In this position you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Responsible for keeping the buildings clean and in orderly condition.

  • Performing cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, community and staff bathrooms, consumer dorm rooms, sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.

  • Duties will also include notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning supplies.

If invited to interview, please obtain your Official 10 year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles to bring with you.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of cleaning methods, safety practices, equipment and supplies.

  • Ability to understand and carry out routine listings of supplies and prepare other simple reports and records.

  • Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.

  • Physical abilities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting up to fifty pounds without assistance, grasping, hearing, smelling, and repetitive motions.
