About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.

Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Fort Meade, MD.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by analyzing data and technical findings to develop recommendations for improving cyber capabilities; evaluating information technologies to guide the integration of major hardware/software across DoD networks; and assessing strategies, policies, and plans for the design, development and/or acquisition of Government cyber operations analysis capabilities and/or tools.

Major Duties:

  • Leads a team of personnel assigned to the Command, and its cyber program partners in providing operational support on a broad range of issues
  • Performs analysis of unique problems requiring creativity and innovative use of techniques, advanced approaches and/or new technologies
  • Provides compartmented, highly sensitive, expert level support to all the Command's mission areas, as defined in the Unified Command Plan (UCP)
  • Coordinates with representatives of national agencies, the Joint Staff, OSD, and military services to provide sensitive, innovative and, often, clandestine effects-based solutions to the Command and other Combatant Commanders' mission requirements.
