Full Job Description

You will serve as a SHIP SAFETY SPECIALIST in the WORK CONTROL GROUP DIVISION, of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing ship safety processes to ensure ship conditions and systems comply with fire safety requirements.

  • You will Identify hazardous conditions created by proposed actions, resolving conflicts, and disapproving actions as necessary to maintain ship conditions.
  • You will Resolve environmental/hazardous effects on ships equipment and incorporating a past history of complaints or violations into improved processes for future availabilities.
  • You will Conduct special studies and investigations of controversial problems and issues associated with the Ship Safety Program, and continually evaluating the effectiveness of all components of the program.
  • You will Follow and enforce all established safety rules and requirements
