Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing the quality and maintenance of non-nuclear materials used in submarine systems at a naval shipyard in Hawaii, ensuring everything meets safety and operational standards through analysis, inspections, and problem-solving.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a PROGRAM SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT - CODE 130 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and developing procedures and technical requirements of non-nuclear material for submarine system maintenance and inspections to ensure quality and accomplish program objectives.

  • You will serve as a technical and operational subject matter expert responsible for non-nuclear material for submarine system maintenance.
  • You will provide standardized policy, technical support, coordination, and compliance review for the non-nuclear material program.
  • You will perform independent, accurate, and complete analysis of Receipt Inspection processes and procedures.
  • You will develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions in order to correct non-nuclear material deficiencies, problems, and concerns.
  • You will review, analyze, and evaluate deficiency and failure reports.
  • You will coordinate the planning, execution, and maintenance of a non-nuclear material program.
  • You will generate, coordinate, process, and implement instructions to eliminate problems or bottlenecks prior to or during receipt inspection process.
  • You will monitor and coordinate resolution of subsystem maintenance and engineering problems related to material programs.
  • You will advise on the development and preparation of material process instructions, procedures, and recommend modifications to improve training programs.
  • You will assess vendors based on product history by utilizing the Product Data Reporting and Evaluation Program and establish steps in the material procurement process.
  • You will develop methods for inspection, process control, and related quality control measures in conjunction with Shipyard organizations.
