This job involves leading projects to clean up and reclaim old, abandoned mine sites in Pennsylvania, ensuring they don't harm people or the environment.
You'll plan these projects, check environmental impacts, and manage funding grants for the work.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for independently planning and developing AML Reclamation Projects and classifying AML problems.
Your duties will entail evaluating environmental resources in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to successfully obtain AML project’s consultations and environmental clearances.
Typical resources that may be present on a project may include historic and cultural resources, hydrology, vegetation, fish and wildlife resources, soils, air quality, archeological information, and socio-economic factors.
You may also perform background data searches, reconnaissance surveys, and personal interviews as necessary.
Strong organizational skills are vital in order to maintain detailed AML inventory, as well as calculate preliminary designs and estimates.
Another primary part of this position involves administering and managing AML grants and subawards, including guiding grantees through the application process and assisting with developing grant justifications, budgets, invoices, and any special requirements in accordance with grant guidance and standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
