*Subject to changeDESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Complete inspections, preventive maintenance, lubrication, and repairs on machinery such as pumps, boilers, air conditioning units, meters, and air compressors.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs to structures, facilities, and equipment, i.e., housekeeping activities, fabrication and installations, routine cleaning and servicing of vehicles, and cement mixing and preparation.
- Operate hand tools and special equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, lawn mowers, tractors \w mower attachments, weed eaters, chainsaws, and other lawn equipment.
- Operate, load, and tow full and empty trailers
- Move appliances, furniture, and equipment
- Keep records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Record and maintain tool, equipment, and parts inventory.
- Report unsafe conditions and unsafe equipment.
- Will drive to and from various work sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONSThe position requires stooping, bending and/or lifting of items of up to 80 pounds with occasional periods of walking on rough surfaces.
There are occasional discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions.
The position may involve occasional exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as oils and cleaning solutions.
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to read, write, add, subtract and follow oral and/or basic written instructions as might normally be acquired through 9 to 11 years of formal schooling.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSSix (6) months of working experience
LICENSE REQUIREMENTSValid Texas Driver License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2).
