Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing and protecting highly sensitive classified information for a naval patrol wing, including creating security policies, handling secure communications equipment, and responding to security incidents to safeguard national security.

A good fit would be someone with experience in government or military security roles who is detail-oriented, good at planning, and comfortable working with confidential materials in a team setting.

It requires a strong understanding of information protection and the ability to guide others on security procedures.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or equivalent in developing and implementing safeguards for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • Experience developing security policies for program management, protection, storage, and destruction of SCI
  • Knowledge of EKMS/KMI programs for planning, evaluation, and support in naval or military contexts
  • Ability to act as a liaison for security matters and maintain material allowances with annual reviews
  • Skills in analyzing security incidents, assessing damage, and implementing actions to prevent future issues
  • Proficiency in developing, coordinating, and maintaining Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for security programs
  • Experience providing guidance and technical assistance on security procedures, including Two Person Integrity (TPI)

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST of COMMANDER, PATROL WING 10.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector developing and implementing the safeguarding of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), developing security policies for security program management and providing protection, storage and destruction of sensitive compartmented information for a security program.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will provide EKMS/KMI program support, planning and evaluation for CPRW-10, and EKMS/KMI Local Elements, locally and forward deployed.
  • You will work closely with and provide support to CPRW-10 special access programs (SAPs) based as required by the CPRW-10 Command Security Manager (CSM).
  • You will act as liaison representative for Commanding Officer, CPRW-10, in all matters pertaining to EKMS/KMI.
  • You will acquire, monitor, and maintain the CPRW-10 EKMS/KMI material allowance and conduct an annual review of all EKMS/KMI material holdings
  • You will develop, coordinate and implement written guidance for CPRW-10 and Local Element EKMS/KMI policy and procedures, with particular emphasis on accountability, Two Person Integrity (TPI), security, and identification of improper practices.
  • You will analyze CPRW-10 and Local Element incidents that occur, assesses any damage caused by the incident, and takes appropriate actions to minimize future occurrences and any adverse effects on national security.
  • You will develop, coordinate and maintain the EKMS/KMI Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
  • You will provide guidance and technical assistance to Local Elements in developing their EAPs.
