Summary

This job involves overseeing security forces and protection measures for military resources and personnel in the U.S.

The primary purpose of this position: is to ensure adequate Security Forces and force protection support is maintained for resources and personnel Ensures USAF, MAJCOM and wing policies and standards are met and provides technical guidance for training of IDS operators, test development for both operator certification and IDS testing to ensure performance criteria.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

This is an NH-03 position with full salary potential within that band, however the initial salary range offered for this position will be $104,349.00 - $161,313.00 which includes locality pay percentage, unless statutory rules prevail.

Follow on salary increases based on contribution MAY be earned within the full salary of the NH-03 pay band.

Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.

3. Knowledge of structure, programs and work methods of organization for personnel/manning issues.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS APPLYING TO THIS POSITION: Department of Defense Physical Security Certification (PSC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development.

The listed certification requirements may not be delegated or their delegated security career field representative. Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 21 days per year.

Physical Required: Due to heavy lifting (approx. 30-50lbs), extended periods of standing or walking, traversing uneven terrain, stooping, kneeling or reaching above head.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Major Duties:

DUTIES: Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).

Provides program management and acts as the focal point for all matters involving the IDS supporting the installation/wing PL 1-4 restricted and controlled areas.

Ensures IDS requirements are met for the installation's PL 1-4 resources. Identifies IDS deficiencies through testing and initiates, coordinates, or recommends corrective action as required.

Analyzes data to identify compliance or noncompliance, vulnerabilities, trends, strengths, and benchmarks. Conducts training classes for security forces personnel.

Prepares lesson plans and teaches formal or informal training courses for personnel in various Security Forces functional activities in accordance with AFI 36-2646.

Provides expertise in resolution of ESS operational and technical problems associated with state-of-the-art intrusion detection, access control, and video assessment technology.

Reviews contractors' ESS proposals, including hardware, software, sensors, communications, and test/checkout procedures.

Assists in the oversight of security projects being accomplished by contract to ensure that all actions are properly and effectively administered in compliance with applicable contracting laws and regulations.
