Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the COMMANDING OFFICER, SECURITY DEPARTMENT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following:1) Utilizing security principles across Personnel, Physical, Information Security, International Programs, and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection disciplines; 2) Demonstrating experience with security systems, inspections, audits, and compliance with regulations; 3) Demonstrating strong oral and written skills to provide training, prepare reports, and advise leadership; 4) Assisting with managing security programs and resolving complex issues; and 5) Performing physical tasks during inspections and work in environments with moderate risks.

  • You will manage Personnel Security Investigations (PSIs), position sensitivity classifications, and security clearance eligibility determinations.
  • You will conduct advanced physical security surveys, inspections, and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with upper echelon directives.
  • You will ensure compliance with need-to-know principles and access control measures for exclusion areas where classified functions are performed.
  • You will review and approve foreign national visit requests, ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • You will participate in base-wide disaster planning and anti-terrorist exercises, ensuring readiness for various threat and vulnerability levels.
