Base salary range: $30,286 - $39,372
Typical requirements: 1 year general experience. 2 years college or associate degree.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working in a security alarm center for the Navy, where you'll monitor alarms, answer emergency calls on phones and radios, keep detailed logs of events, and coordinate with police, fire, and medical teams during urgent situations.
It's a fast-paced role that requires staying calm under pressure and handling multiple tasks at once.
A good fit would be someone with experience in dispatch or security operations who is detail-oriented and good at communicating clearly.
You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating radio communication equipment.2) Receiving incoming telephone or alarm systems calls.3) Maintaining logbooks/records.4) Operating electronic computer-based systems for emergency (Police, fire, and or EMS) dispatching management.5) Working on multiple equipment/systems (alarm systems, dispatch recording devices, multi-channel radios) during emergency situations.6) Disseminating information from incoming callers during emergency situations.7) Effectively carrying out several tasks at the same time such as operating radios, telephones, and typing while efficiently communicating with the public, police, fire, and/or medical personnel.
