In this role, you will support a variety of administrative and technical functions that keep Greene County’s roadway maintenance programs running smoothly.

You will also play an important part in developing the Annual Work Plan, helping shape the projects and priorities that keep our roads safe and reliable.

Requirements

In this role, you will coordinate roadway program maintenance activities for Greene County, supporting operations across 565 linear miles of roadway, a DVMT of 106,461,000, a workforce of 84 field employees, and an annual budget of $19.6 million.

You will play a key role in planning, budgeting, and ensuring the efficient delivery of county maintenance operations.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the County Maintenance Manager and Assistant Maintenance Managers in developing the Annual Work Plan, including coordination of the county’s 213 Surface Improvement Program.
  • Preparing county budget reviews to inform management decisions, advising on budget issues, and recommending fund adjustments between programs as needed.
  • Monitoring all operational and encumbered funds to ensure adequate availability for purchases and to prevent loss of funds at fiscal year-end.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Roadway Programs Specialist or Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and an associate's degree in a field of business administration, computer science, highway engineering technology or closely related program; or
  • One year of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and a bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or civil engineering related discipline; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
