About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Community Center. This position is considered Regular Full -Time (RFT).
You are guaranteed 40 hours, you may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Depends on th emission needs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Must have Experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities equipment, rules and procedures which involves recreational work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and possess skill in dealing with the public.
Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of goals, application of principles, concepts and methods and techniques of recreation.
Knowledge of programming, marketing and scheduling events or programs within one or more of the following: morale, welfare and recreation, business operations and/or community center event planning.
Skill in written and oral communications and the ability to speak with a variety of groups. Must possess experience that provides knowledge of cash handling procedures.
Must have computer skills in the use of various automated software programs, tools and techniques to produce a variety of documents and reports but the skills of a qualified typist are not required.
Ability to make decisions and work effectively under the pressure and timelines and rigid deadlines.
Must be able to pass a physical examination as the position requires long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, and reaching and lifting moderately heavy items.
Must be able to obtain a Tier I background investigation. Incumbent is required to drive a government motor vehicle in the performance of his/her duties.
Must be able to provide a copy of his/her driving record. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:
Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Carries out recurring group activities such as classes, clubs, special events, outreach, competitive games and events, and self-directed leisure.
Recommends new programming activities, to include type of format and resources the activity would require.
Gathers information from a number of different sources, including past programs and current popular programs in other communities.
Evaluates the information and makes a judgment on what meets the needs of the specific clientele groups. Assists individuals with special interests to develop clubs or special interest groups.
Assists in promoting marketing strategies. During deployment, exercises, and other special conditions, leads leisure activities and assists with services. Sets up rooms to support meeting group needs.
Collects fees and protects funds. Greets facility users and conducts facility tours. Decorates facility to reflect holiday and program themes.
Reports facility repairs and maintenance requirements according to procedures. Assists in maintaining facility to meet operational standards.
Works with other staff members, volunteer and/or individual/personal services contract personnel. Performs other related duties as required. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty.
