Summary

This job involves running a firing range at a military base's Rod & Gun Club, where you'll open and close the facility, teach visitors about safe gun handling and shooting basics, manage ammunition storage, and sometimes handle cash sales.

Full Job Description

This position is located at Rod & Gun Club, Fort Bragg, NC. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Army NAF paysetting rules apply to this vacancy. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have experience with firing range operations and firearm safety and possess work experience which involved dealing with the general public.

May have cashier skills.

Must be able to obtain current Installation Range Certification Card, National Rifle Association (NRA) Range Safety Officer Certification, or equivalent certification within 60 days of entrance on duty.

Major Duties:

  • Executes range facility opening, closing, and operating procedures in accordance with installation, local, and federal laws.
  • Instructs patrons on range safety practices and provides general firearm and marksmanship information. Responsible for all safety issues in the operation of the range.
  • Ensures proper handling storage, accountability, inventory of ammunition, and vault security.
  • May perform cashier duties and maintain records of sales.
  • Directs patrons; schedules use of ranges; conducts briefings; and monitors patrons; coordinates league, competition, and group functions.
