Job Description

Summary

This job is for a lifeguard at swimming pools on a military base in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where you'll watch over swimmers, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies by performing rescues and giving first aid.

It's a great fit for someone who enjoys working with people in a water environment, has strong swimming skills, and is comfortable handling urgent situations to keep everyone safe.

No advanced education is needed, but you'll need to be reliable and physically fit for active duties.

Key Requirements

  • Current Lifeguard Certification from American Red Cross or equivalent (e.g., Star Guard, YMCA, ELLIS)
  • Current First Aid Certification from American Red Cross or equivalent
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association equivalent
  • Ability to provide maximum surveillance of pool areas and respond to emergencies
  • Skills in performing rescues and administering first aid to patrons
  • Experience or ability to assist in conducting swimming lessons or water survival training

Full Job Description

This position is located at multiple Aquatics facilities on Fort Bragg, NC. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Army NAF paysetting rules apply to this vacancy.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e.

Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS); American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid This position requires current Lifeguard and First Aid Certifications.

You MUST possess and upload all required certifications prior to accepting a tentative job offer. Major Duties:

  • Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests.
  • Responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility.
  • Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies; rescues pool patrons and administers first aid as required.
  • Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to TC 21-21 or assisting with American Red Cross swim lessons as an Aide.
