Full Job Description

The Arts and Crafts Center provides a wide variety of services to the base. We host a variety of arts and craft classes for children and adults, to include our "Paint and Sip" nights.

Our facility offers crafts made by local crafters like painted Alaska themed wooden bears, saws, Alaska themed items along with crocheted items, and moose shaped planters.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE PULLED FRIDAYS AT 8:00AM UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Applicants will be categorized by preference(s) and/or priority consideration eligibilities.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 05/12/2026 Business Based Action, Military Spouse Preference, Outside Applicant Veteran, and Transition Hiring Preference In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly and accurately in English. Ability to safeguard and handle cash.

Must be physically able to lift and carry items up to and including 25 pounds and be able to work in a dusty environment. Position requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, and lifting.

No experience required. Major Duties:

This position is in the Arts & Crafts Center of the 354th Force Support Squadron at Eielson AFB.

The incumbent is responsible for assisting other recreation assistants in the operation and maintenance of the Arts & Crafts Center.

Provide quality customer service, answers customers' questions and assists with product selection.

Takes registrations for skills development classes, operates register; collects, safeguards, reconciles, and deposits monies received from customers.

Performs basic housekeeping duties in and around the center. Provides simple instructions to children and adult craft classes. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
