Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a lifeguard at indoor and outdoor pools on a military base in Alaska, where you'll monitor swimmers, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies by performing rescues and providing first aid.

Key Requirements

  • Highly preferred: American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification or equivalent
  • Highly preferred: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification or equivalent

This position is located within Aquatics on Fort Greely, Alaska.

A qualified candidate must possess and maintain the following certifications: Lifeguard (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e.

Star Guard or Ellis) American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent (i.e. Star Guard or Ellis) First Aid.

In addition, candidate must possess customer service experience.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Criteria is verified within the application package.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard or Ellis Lifeguard Instructor Certification.

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard or Ellis Water Safety Instructor Certification. Major Duties:

  • Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager or pool supervisor.
  • Performs lifeguarding duties and employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests.
  • Responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility.
  • Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.
