Real Time Crime Analyst performs duties and tasks in support of law enforcement activities in the Investigative Bureau of the Police Department.
Assists officers and investigators with criminal research needs. Accesses servers and storage media to locate specific video footage for investigators and officers. Testifying in court when necessary.
Answering phone calls for a variety of informational or technical issues and questions. Maintaining daily, weekly, or monthly operational reports.
Duties will vary based on given assignment and will require day, evening, and night shift work
Observing calls for service in progress to provide additional information to responding units; monitoring the duties of officers to direct additional resources as needed.
Maintain awareness of police units and calls for service to track evolving situations, identify possible suspects (e.g., locating suspect vehicles and/or fleeing suspects), and relay information when on-scene personnel are unable to do so.
Perform technology-based investigative work in real-time to support communications, dispatch of calls for service and the response to those calls by public safety units.
Collects relevant information and make timely decisions central to police responses while working in a multifaceted technology driven environment.
