The ideal candidate for our QA Engineer (IT Quality Assurance Journey) role is a thoughtful, mission-driven professional who understands the critical role technology plays in delivering equitable public services across Washington.

This candidate is a skilled QA Engineer with hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing within complex enterprise environments.
They excel at analyzing user stories, designing effective test approaches, and translating requirements into clear, repeatable test cases.
They are comfortable maintaining automated test suites, interpreting test results, and using system logs to diagnose issues with precision.
Their technical foundation is matched by a disciplined approach to software quality assurance practices, ensuring that Tax & Wage IT Systems operate securely, efficiently, and in alignment with agency standards.
Collaboration is at the heart of how this individual works.
They communicate effectively with Business Systems Analysts, Developers, Solution Architects, fellow QA Engineers, and both internal and external customers.
