Full Job Description

You will serve as a PUBLICATION AUTOMATION ANALYST in the DIRECTIVES, PRINTING & PUBLICATIONS BRANCH (BUPERS-00T4) of BUREAU OF NAVAL PERSONNEL.

FOR GS 09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Manages all aspects of the Navy Military Personnel Manual (MILPERSMAN) and other directives; 2) Provides advice and assistance in development and implementation of MILPERSMAN articles and associated correspondence; 3) Provides technical guidance on MILPERSMAN articles drafted for signature by higher authority; 4) Applies a wide range of methods to gather, analyze, evaluate and authenticate information involved in managing directives management policy; 5) Performs detailed analysis of all existing directives and related procedures to ensure conformance to current directives management objectives, policies, and standards; and 6) Identifies deficiencies and recommends improvements and modifications to directives and regulations that have Navy-wide impact.

FOR GS 07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Composes and prepares a variety of correspondence, records, briefing materials and statistical and narrative material required to support the office; 2) Uses database or spreadsheet applications to enter, revise sort and retrieve data and/or uses graphic software to provide charts and graphs; 3) Ensures clarity on all outgoing correspondence to include grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, style and format to align with regulations and commands standards; and 4) Maintains office files and ensures they are compliant with applicable regulatory guidance.

  • You will develop charts, tables, and graphs in support of writing or revising publication and policies.
