The purpose of the Public Information Coordinator position is to enhance increasing goals and mission associated with the agency's Line of Effort 4: Inform and educate the public, State and local leaders, and Veterans on all matters pertaining to Veterans.

Responsibilities of the Public Information Coordinator:
  • Assist with scriptwriting, storytelling & storyboarding: Independently write and assist in the management of short and long-form scriptwriting, storyboarding and storytelling processes to ensure clear, creative and comprehensive story production for marketing.
  • Assist with various aspects of video production, including setting up equipment, operating cameras, recording audio, logging footage, and performing basic video editing tasks under· minimal supervision.
  • Assist with capturing and editing compelling photographs at SCDVA and assigned strategic engagement events and for promotional use.
  • Planning, designing, writing and editing compelling content for the department's website and social media sites while making recommendations to improve the agency's overall digital communications strategy.
  • Create graphics to support department programs, visual and social media platforms.

Requirements

A high school diploma and relevant experience. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required work experience. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted with prior approval.
