The Pennsylvania Department of Health is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Public Health Program Associate 2 to join us in the Bureau of Communicable Diseases.

Working in the Division of TB and STD, you will monitor the compliance of county and municipal health departments' Tuberculosis (TB) Program and monitor surveillance data.

Requirements

In this position, you will support the work of the TB program by serving as the project officer for county and municipal health departments’ contracts and assisting in the management of latent TB surveillance data.

As the project officer, your work will involve evaluating funding allocations, assist in the review and approval of contact budgets, and reviewing documentation for expenses invoiced.

You will provide technical support to local health departments to ensure compliance with grant requirements and TB Program objectives.

Some of your duties will include monitoring surveillance data, generating reports, and communicating data issues and outputs to state health centers and local health departments.

You will prepare written reports and PowerPoint presentations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
