Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing the removal, packaging, and shipping of equipment from naval vessels that are being decommissioned, ensuring everything is done safely and on time.

You'll coordinate with teams to handle lists of items to remove and address any issues that could cause delays.

It's a good fit for someone with experience in logistics or inventory management in a technical or military setting, who pays close attention to details and works well under deadlines.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a PROPERTY DISPOSAL SPECIALIST in the Operations Department, Inactivation/Reactor Compartment Disposal/Recycle Program, Code 350 of PSNS and IMF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing automated system requests to identify inactive naval vessel equipment or components and ensure proper removal techniques are used during equipment removal.

  • You will ensure that proper shipping priority is applied to all removed materials and ensure that material is packaged properly and shipped to the correct address.
  • You will coordinate equipment removal from naval vessels designated for inactivation.
  • You will coordinate and manage the disposition of equipment identified in the equipment removal lists (ERL) and casualty reports (CASREP's), including the arrangement and coordination of the removal and timely shipment to authorized recipients.
  • You will assess material requirements, identify potential delays, and provide recommendations for eliminating/reducing delays to ensure material is available and shipped to customers in a timely manner.
