Full Job Description

This vacancy is for a GS-0301-9, Program Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.

Coast Guard, OPERATING LOCATION-SFLC CONTRACTING and PROCUREMENT in Baltimore, MD To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Resume reflects at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 of applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.

Resume reflects at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 of knowing the theories and principles of management and organization structures.

Resume reflects at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 of using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to capture various type of issues throughout organizations.

Resume reflects at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 of conducting interviews with supervisors and employees to obtain information about organizational missions, functions, and work procedures.

You will serve as a Program Specialist and be responsible for providing a variety of basic procurement, financial and human resource related assignments under the general supervision of the Deputy, Contracting & Procurement Division.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Identifying and assisting CRC's to help support HR administrative activities on everyday tasks.

Providing assistance to organizational managers with HR functions which include personnel actions and tracking status of actions. Maintaining records for multiple organizations.

Reviewing and assisting with small budget inquiries and calls for technical aspects of the organizations budget.

Responding to data calls from managers that may need research and analysis for program issues. Performing studies of continuing nature with extensive planning and coordinating for major programs.

Facilitating meetings to include scheduling appointments, location and room set up.
