This vacancy is for an Assistant Docking Officer GS-0301-11, located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard Yard, Industrial Department in Baltimore, Maryland.
You MUST meet the following requirements: To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the federal sector.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.
Experience providing expert analysis and advice on complex program issues related to docking and transfer of vessels.
Experience analyzing and developing land placement and docking plans, lines and offset calculations, curves of form, stability consideration and specifications.
Experience analyzing, investigating and solving unusually difficult problans relative to drydocking, land placement and transfer functions.

You will serve as an Assistant Docking Officer and be responsible for serving as the Assistant Docking Officer, who acts as a specialist and consultant in performing highly technical stability and loading functions to safely lift vessels out of the water to perform depot maintenance.

Typical work assignments include: Supervises a group of employees who perform various task involved in lifting, drydocking or land transfer ola wide variety of marine craft and ships for repair, renovation or construction.
Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised.
Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members, which are clearly communicated trough the formal employee performance management system.
Observes workers' performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques.
