About the Position: Serves as Operations Project Manager (OPM) for a complex of locks and associated facilities, responsible for management of human resources, technical activities, program schedule, fiscal accounting, and public relations.
The Lake Washington Ship Canal is a civil works water resource project with features of flood control, navigation (two locks), varied recreation and visitor centers with over one million visitors annually, covering a 66-acre site in metropolitan Seattle, WA.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience providing program management; technical work including oversight supporting activities in 1 or more of the following areas: operations and maintenance at an industrial facility, natural resource management, environmental stewardship (fish and wildlife), recreation, navigation, or lock and dam facility operations; AND development and execution of an annual operating budget.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
