Job Description

Summary

This role involves leading human resources efforts for a government agency, such as planning staff needs, reorganizing teams, and evaluating employee programs to ensure the workforce runs smoothly.

Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Enterprise Services (ES), Workforce Care Directorate (WCD), located in the following locations: Bloomington, MN Indianapolis, IN Washington D.C.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Advising senior leadership on human capital management functions, including strategic workforce planning, staffing, position management, and organizational development.

Executing updates and changes to organizational structures, developing organizational charts, and managing workforce planning initiatives.

Advising on administrative services, mission support, and logistics, including identifying resource requirements and coordinating with relevant divisions.

Conducting comprehensive evaluations of workforce programs and analyzing key performance data to identify trends in personnel strength to forecast onboard levels.

In this role you will be responsible for providing supervisory oversight and analysis over WCD position management, organizational development and administrative services, including logistics.

This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS-14, Step 10).

Major duties include: Overseeing updates and changes to the organization's structure, charts, staffing, and workforce management.

Monitoring encumbered and vacant positions to ensure data accuracy and analyze position descriptions as programs evolve.

Providing oversight for all human capital management functions, including hiring plans, staffing, position management, and organizational development.

Managing all administrative services, mission support, and logistics. Advising leadership on staffing, classification, organizational structure, and mission support.
