About the Position: Serves as Chief of the Military Project Office.

Responsible for the program and project management activities related to execution of the District's large, complex and diversified Military Programs.

The programs involve investigations, planning, design and construction for the Air Force and other Department of Defense agencies characterized as highly visible with multiple complexities of technical issues, political interest, public impact and environmental sensitivity.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and Media Human Capital Management Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for the overall management of the assigned program by supervising teams of project managers (PMs).
  • Ensures consistency and continuity of program management within the District and provides a central point of contact on assigned projects.
  • Interfaces with other District functional chiefs to ensure overall program coordination
  • Provides a work environment conducive to effective integration of the technical functions of planning, engineering, real estate, contracting, construction, resource management, and other organizations.
  • Ensures the efficient, effective and timely execution of the assigned program in accordance with established policies, regulations and agreements.
  • Prepares performance standards for subordinates and evaluates their performance and identifies developmental and training needs for employees.
  • Ensures stakeholder satisfaction by providing a quality product/service consistent with direction of higher authority, laws, regulations and policies.
