Job Description

Summary

This full-time role at Lucky Shoals Park involves helping run community programs, events, and daily operations at the recreation center while providing excellent service to visitors and training part-time staff.

Key Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Health and Human Services, Senior Services, History, or Education (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • One year of related experience in recreation, programming, or community services
  • Valid driver's license
  • CPR and First Aid certification (must obtain within first 6 months of employment)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, daytime, evenings, and holidays
  • Strong customer service and communication skills for interacting with staff, users, and the public

Job Description
This Program Leader will be responsible for assisting with programming and operations at Lucky Shoals Park Community Recreation Center. The incumbent will be providing quality customer service to internal personnel and external members of the community and public. Additionally, this position will be supporting and training part-time staff.

Essential Duties
  • Interacting with user groups, associations, and other agencies
  • Assisting with special events and programming
  • Maintaining communication with staff and management
  • Maintaining safe operating environments and facilities
  • Completing and processing paperwork, including permit requests, and preparing and maintaining various records and reports
  • Completing Civic Rec entries for camps, programs, and classes
  • Overseeing Youth Athletic Associations and field rentals at satellite locations
  • Performing other duties of a similar nature
Grade
The grade for this position is B22(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Health and Human Services, Senior Services, History, or Education AND
  • Valid driver's license AND
  • One year of related experience
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • CPR and First Aid certification within the first 6 months of employment
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or higher in Parks and Recreation, History, or Education AND
  • Two years of related experience
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification

Other Job Requirements/Information

  • Must be able to work a variety of hours, weekends, daytime, evenings, and holidays
