Job Description

Summary

This part-time job involves leading a summer meals program by ensuring everything runs smoothly, serving food to participants, managing supplies, and supervising helpers like assistants and volunteers.

Key Requirements

  • At least 16 years old
  • Experience in general labor, customer service, food service, or janitorial maintenance preferred
  • Availability for 20-30 hours per week, including specific dates from May 28th to August 2nd (Monday-Friday, 5-6 hours daily between 9am-2pm), plus training on May 21st and work on June 19th and July 4th
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with coworkers, supervisors, and the public
  • Ability to perform medium physical work: lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly; involves stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive motions
  • Compliance with Summer Meals Program rules, civil rights laws, and reporting attendance or issues

Full Job Description

This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.

Job Description

The Meal Compliance Program Leader will be responsible for compliance with the Summer Meals Program. They will also supervise Meal Program Assistants, Volunteers, and Interns. They will serve meals, inventory meals and supplies, set up and break down tables and chairs, provide supervision of patrons during meal service, and ensure safety and cleanliness of the facility. The incumbent will be responsible for reporting attendance and other problems to the program sponsor, maintain compliance with civil rights laws and regulations, attend training sessions.

The position is seasonal requiring 30 hours per week.

Hourly rate
  • The hourly rate is $16.80.

Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 16 years old
  • General laborer experience, customer service, food service and/or janitorial maintenance preferred.
  • Must be able to work 20 to 30 hours per week, to include June 19th, July 4th, May 21st (evening orientation/training), and Monday - Friday, 5-6 hours daily (between the hours of 9am & 2pm), May 28th through August 2nd
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Physical requirements:
  • Stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
