Responsibilities

  • You will provide supervision, direction, and assistance to the administrative functions and operations of the Contractors, Boiler Safety, LP Gas, and Pyro Boards.
  • You will interpret licensing statutes and regulations to licensees, applicants, and the public and receive and respond to inquiries (walk-ins, telephone, email, mail, and fax) for assistance related to the program areas.
  • You will train, supervise and lead staff who conduct daily operations for the Boards.
  • You will weekly review the Boards’ websites and update changes, assists with newsletters and publications, gather and verify FOIA requests, research issues and complete other special assignments.
  • You will work with other internal divisions and offices to ensure the proper and timely resolution of complaints and attend Investigative Review Committee meetings.
  • You will perform other functions as assigned including records retention, board meeting preparation, fiscal and procurement activities, and other functions to support all aspects of applicable statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and relevant program experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws.
  • Knowledge of the practices, principles and theories of management.
  • Ability to supervise administrative staff and delegate responsibilities. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex instructions.
  • Considerable skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and Microsoft products.

Other Requirements

  • Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
  • May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.
  • May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
