Responsibilities

  • You will perform a variety of technical and specialized professional and administrative duties to support the Board Executive, licensing and compliance staff, and/or other business functions for the Contractor's Licensing Board, Board of Pyrotechnic Safety, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board (Contractors/Pyro/LP Gas), particularly with the preparation of Board meetings.
  • You will provide administrative support to the Board Executive, coordinate board travel and process travel reimbursements.
  • You will assist with the coordination of complaint and disciplinary hearing proceedings and hearings, review final orders and consent agreements, communicate and distribute disciplinary documents, and prepare letters of caution.
  • You will track and monitor compliance following the issuance of orders and agreements and assist with initiating non-compliance procedures and/or reinstatements of license privileges.
  • You will assist with processing initial, renewal, and other licensure applications.
  • You will perform other administrative functions such as responding to inquiries received through walk-ins, telephone calls, e-mails, and other methods, assisting with FOIA requests, preparing information for and updating the Boards’ websites, and serving as a records liaison.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services. (A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of relevant program experience.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience performing administrative functions.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and organizational functions of the applicable boards.
  • Considerable data entry and research skills.
  • Considerable knowledge and skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and computer software programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow routine and complex instructions.
  • Considerable skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and Microsoft products.
  • Ability to process meeting notes and minutes.

Other Requirements

  • Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
  • May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.
  • May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
