This position is located in the Vehicle Services/Titles & Registration - Mail In Title Registration Unit, Headquarters, Blythewood, S.C.
Responsibilities of a Titles & Registration Specialist III
Processes transactions to include, but not limited to, duplicate titles, issuance of registration cards and licenses plates, handicap placards and golf carts.
Responds to routine inquiries from customers via mail, email, or telephone.
Advises customers on appropriate actions for payment, services and required documentation for transaction processing. Resolve customers problems and inquiries through records research.
Manage fleet account customers and the BMW employee program. Disseminate information and resolve problem resolution. Serves as support function for DMV Branch Offices.
Use DMV Phoenix system to enter, retrieve, update and provide data for customers, courts and law enforcement.
Maintains appropriate tracking system for customer inquiries. Reconcile transaction reports and maintains accurate cash drawers.
Review documents for accuracy and compliance. Prepares documents for scanning.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
Agency Requirements- A high school diploma or equivalence.
Additional Requirements- Ability to learn and explain policy and procedures to DMV customers.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying office practices, policies and procedures.
- Works under general supervision after a period of training.
- Must display professional proficiency in all areas of the job.
- Works in general office environment.
- May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week.
- Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs.
- The work requires sitting for prolonged periods of time and significant time spent at a computer terminal.
Qualifications
Agency Preferred- A high school diploma and two (2) years related job experience.
