About the Position: This position falls under the Defense Health Agency-National Capital Region Medical Directorate at the 633RD Medical Group, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Langley, managing medical resource analysis and documentation systems to conduct and sustain program organization, system maintenance, cost allocation operations, report development, data quality control and analysis, audits and training of unit personnel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, assisting with 1) Organizing and collecting personnel time and expense, statistical workload, and financial data for an organization; 2) Providing monthly analysis and findings for improvement in the financial programs; AND 3) Utilizing automated cost accounting/recordkeeping systems, such as Defense Medical Human Resource System Internet (DMHRSi) or Medical Expense Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) to input, compile and/or retrieve data for reports.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Project Management, Business Administration.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Major Duties:

  • Monitor budget reports for accuracy.
  • Review expense data against established budget in order to identify discrepancies.
  • Reclassify expenses to appropriate budget categories.
  • Determine base support costs for facility.
  • Correct personnel and/or financial data to ensure accuracy of records.
  • Organize data related to personnel time and expenses as they impact the overall financial data of the organization.
  • Use analytical techniques to measure data for resolution development.
