Summary

This job involves managing maintenance production in an Army National Guard facility, ensuring equipment is ready for use by scheduling repairs, tracking progress, and adjusting plans as needed.

It's a temporary promotion role that could become permanent, focused on keeping military units supported with reliable gear.

Key Requirements

  • At least 24 months of specialized experience in preparing job or work orders and scheduling production phases

  • General experience in quantitative reasoning, clear oral and written communication, and understanding repair terminology

Full Job Description

This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (Temp Promo) -Title 32, Position Description Number D1255000 and is part of the WI FMS 5, Wisconsin Army National Guard.

*At management's discretion, this Temporary Promotion may be made permanent without further competition in accordance with 5CFR 335.103(c)(1)(i) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-1152-09 level, applicant must have at least 24 months experience, education or training preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes.

Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.

Major Duties:

  • As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (Temp Promo) -Title 32, GS-1152-9, you will perform maintenance production management, to achieve or maintain desired production levels, to serve as an equipment readiness expert for units supported by the facility, and may provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller.
