Full Job Description

THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: 103d Maintenance Operations Flight (MOF), East Granby, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the CTANG.

Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the CTANG. Area 3: Individuals eligible for membership in the CTANG.

Membership must be satisfied within four (4) months of selection.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 24 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience, education or training preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes.

Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of aircraft systems and multiple production methods and procedures to develop information needed to control repair work over a complex product such as a fixed-wing airframe.

Knowledge of product terminology data, standards production operations, and process Improvement.

Knowledge of all production methods and procedures related to the manufacture or overhaul of very large/complex weapons systems.

Ability to exercise initiative in taking timely action to schedule and obtain required materials. Knowledge of the organization and work procedures of the production activity.

Ability to exercise considerable initiative in taking prompt decisive action to prevent or alleviate delays due to conflicts in scheduling, lack of materials, or faulty work processes.

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/AFSC.

Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.

JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to perform preliminary planning and long term forecasting of utilization of aerospace vehicles, engines, and associated support equipment.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard.

The major duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for advising, planning and coordinating aircraft maintenance requirements and utilization scheduling between maintenance, operations, and external organizations.

Reviews both immediate and long-range requirements based on current workload forecasts and conditioned based maintenance and develops plans for obtaining resources to meet production requirements.

Maintains historical documents and maintenance data essential for aircraft records accuracy.

Develops and maintains job standard master listings (JML) for assigned equipment in the MIS in coordination with functional work centers.

Actively participates in the Wing Flying Hour Working Group for planning, scheduling, and execution of the Wing's Flying Hour Allocation process.
