Integrated Document Solutions (IDS) is a full-service, end-to-end document management operation.

IDS advises, assists, and supports each agency’s needs, providing a wide variety of cost-efficient document solutions at a professional level.

Our service solutions range from business cards, graphic design, scanning and data conversion to print, mail, fulfillment and warehousing.

IDS partners with each agency to offer services tailored to each program’s needs and budget.

Since IDS provides so many business services/solutions in-house, it is relatively simple to integrate these services into a seamless operation for agencies, resulting in more efficient processes and lower costs.

IDS is also the Colorado State Printer and Branding Office.

Art Professional II This position independently performs professional graphic design work, exercising creativity, and sound judgment while adhering to organizational standards, state regulations, and program goals.
  • Manages pre-press production and executes a diverse range of design projects, including, brochures, annual reports, large-format materials, tradeshow displays, digital assets, infographics, and video content.
  • Designs and produces visual communication materials using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop) on a Mac workstation within a cross-platform environment.
  • Creates a wide range of professional Graphic Design tasks, requiring discretion and creativity within the bounds of professional standards, program and organizational State goals, regulations, and systems.
  • This position will follow brand guidelines, and is well-versed in accessibility. In 2021, The Colorado Laws For Persons With Disabilities passed. All digital work must meet or exceed requirements for WCAG 2.2 criteria.
  • Makes process-level decisions within established guidelines.
  • Applies industry standards to complex assignments, anticipating impacts.
  • Serves as a subject matter resource when needed, and collaborates with internal IDS stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Uses strong evaluative and aesthetic judgment to deliver tailored solutions, guide customers through the design process, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to efficiency and continuous improvement by proactively identifying process enhancements and leveraging advanced technologies to streamline workflows and optimize production outcomes.

A summary of the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Pre-press Print Production – Reviews client-provided files as they are received and prepares them for print. Flags and resolves potential printing issues in the production phase and coordinates with the Production team to achieve a smooth printing process.

Graphic Design Services – Designs and produces visual communication in a cross-platform environment. Maintains records, job logs and backup computer files of projects by utilizing a system of forms and files developed by this unit. Produces projects and coordinates with clients with regard to desired product, budget and deadline, ensuring compliance with brand standards and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience Only:

At least four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.

OR

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to at least four (4) years.

The exceptional candidate will possess the proven ability or accomplishment in the following preferred qualifications:

  • Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position
  • BFA (Bachelor in Fine Arts or Graphic Design)
  • Highly proficient in both the creation and production of files in print and digital media
  • Experience in video creation and editing
  • Creative portfolio showcasing broad experience
  • Accessibility skills and knowledge
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to skillfully guide a customer through the design process

Conditions of Employment:
  • A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
  • Travel: Within the State for meetings and conferences


Appeal Rights:

An applicant who has been removed from an employment list or removed from consideration during the selection process may request a review by the State Personnel Director.
