Trident Technical College is a public, two-year, multi-campus community college that provides quality education and promotes economic development in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties. To foster student success, Trident Technical College provides academic preparatory courses, academic assistance, and comprehensive student services. This position reports to the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department Head. This position is responsible for teaching assigned political science courses in the BSS Department, including American Government, State, and Local Government, Introduction to International Relations, and Power Civics. Faculty will teach at multiple locations, including dual enrollment courses at local high school schools.

Responsibilities also include:

Maintaining accurate recordsAdhering to department policiesDeveloping curriculum and course materialsEvaluating and improving courses to enhance student learningServing as an advisor to students; monitoring and keeping records of student academic progressAssisting department leadership with course development and enhancement and mentoring part-time faculty as requestedParticipating in professional development activities and college committeesAssisting with marketing and recruiting efforts for the division Requirements The candidate must have a master's degree in political science or public administration, or a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in political science or public administration.

Qualifications Candidate must possess demonstrated leadership abilities working within the BSS department that includes faculty, coordinators, department heads, and division leadership while displaying effective teamwork.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.

Preferred candidate will have experience teaching in various teaching modes such as on-campus lectures, online, dual credit, and hybrid and virtual modalities.

Dual Credit teaching experience is a must.

Successful candidates must be proficient in using education technology platforms and able to teach in all modalities and locations; have strong problem-solving and organizational skills, background in curriculum issues, articulation, transfer practices, and educational technology.

The ability to be flexible in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology is essential.
