Job Description

Summary

This job is for a police officer at a Navy installation in Connecticut, where you'll handle law enforcement, security, and emergency responses to keep the base safe.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing law enforcement (LE), physical security (PS), antiterrorism (AT), and force protection (FP) functions; 2) Conducting preliminary and/or ongoing investigations of incidents regarding unusual situations and/or violations of the law; 3) Conducting checkpoints/roadblocks at various locations to reduce criminal activity; 4) Inspecting packages/personal belongings when admitting personnel into controlled areas; and 5) Responding to emergency calls for service while adhering to state and federal laws.

  • You will respond to and investigates complaints while interpreting and enforcing state and federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), DoD and Navy regulations, and installation directives, rules and regulations.
  • You will detect and investigate unusual situations/conditions; takes required action to resolve various incidents/situations and requests additional support.
  • You will perform traffic law enforcement using specialized equipment such as radar, breathalyzer, and must be qualified/certified in these specialized areas and on the necessary equipment.
  • You will use computer equipment and specialized web-based law enforcement programs to fuse intelligence and establish, update, query or print individual or vehicle registration and other law enforcement sensitive information.
  • You will perform force protection, anti-terrorism and sentry duties at installations with operational assets, unrestricted access points, large populations onboard the installation in order to deter, detect, delay and deny unauthorized access.
