The Parking Director leads the city's parking operations, managing over 19,000 spaces in garages, lots, and on-street areas to keep things running smoothly for residents, businesses, and visitors.

The Parking Division manages and maintains over 19,000 public parking spaces across the city, ensuring accessible and efficient parking solutions for residents, businesses, and visitors. This includes operations in 14 parking garages, 10 surface lots, and more than 500 on-street spaces.

The Parking Director is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of the City’s parking infrastructure, which includes more than 19,000 public parking spaces across garages, lots, and on-street locations. This role ensures the effective operation, maintenance, financial sustainability, and public engagement of the Parking Division, aligning with the City’s mobility, economic development, and customer service goals.

Requirements

  • Directs and administers the operation and maintenance of parking facilities by leading and managing the parking administrator, enterprise controller, parking manager, maintenance supervisor, and other key personnel, ensuring all aspects of operations, maintenance and administration are operating effectively and efficiently to the benefit of parking divisions and the city.
  • Oversees the preparation and monitoring of the annual operating and capital budgets by directing staff in the preparation of budget, reviewing and analyzing past and current financial statements, making forecasts of future trends, and reviewing rate structures to ensure revenues meet expenditures and debt.
  • Provides direction and performs special projects by leading and supervising staff, assisting in employee selection, providing counseling, corrective action and monitoring personnel performance, overseeing contracts and leases, and directing and supervising the collection and analysis of data used in the preparation of reports and recommendations.
  • Serves on various boards and commissions representing the City on parking related matters.
  • Responds to requests from downtown businesses, residents, entertainment and cultural facilities, and the general public.
  • Facilitates marketing and communication efforts to ensure that all parties are informed about the City’s parking systems.

Qualifications

Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Required:
  • Five years of increasingly responsible supervisory and administrative experience in management, public or business administration, or a closely related field.

Additional Information

  • Valid Driver's License required. A DMV transcript dated within 30 days will be required if selected for hire.
Work Schedule:
  • Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
