This job involves preparing and painting aircraft, engines, and related equipment for the Navy, including surface prep, corrosion removal, and applying specialized coatings using chemicals and tools.
It's hands-on work in a military maintenance setting in North Carolina.
A good fit would be someone with practical experience in painting or surface treatment trades who can work independently and follow technical instructions.
You will serve as a PAINTING WORKER (MIXED TRADE) in the MRO PRODUCTION DEPT of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT SUPERVISION 1) Working from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions, and at times, under guidance of higher-graded Painter, 2) Preparing aircraft, engines, ground support equipment and components for finish using various chemicals, detergents and solvents in conjunction with high pressure steam and water, 3) Performing strip operations such as chemical and plastic media blasting, masking, applying chemical conversion to bare substrates, identifying various types of corrosion and treat in accordance with technical information, 4) Mixing and applies various paints/proper finishes to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assemblies and/or subassemblies.
